I have seen a synthesis for palladium black, using palladium chloride, sodium hydroxide, and formic acid.
I'm wondering one, if the synthesis is correct, and two, if this can be performed with chloroplatinic acid to replace palladium chloride, on order to make platinum black.
The next question is how can this be used? It would be used at atmospheric pressure preferentially, with an hydrogen balloon.
However, does it have to be dried, or could it be washed and used wet in a hydrogenation?
Just wondering how such a catalyst would work?
