Question Help With Bromo-Valerophenone

I need help with making the Bromovelerophenone I start with Velerophenone add the Hbr and the color changes after adding just a little bit of the peroxide but does not clear up it stays red-orangish I let it stir for 1.5 hours and when I add the 500ml of water and stir for 5 min when I stop and wait for seperation the water layer is on the bottom and the oil is on the top the opposite of what it should be.

What percentage of peroxide are u using, and what percentage of hydrobromic acid? If the reaction doesn’t start, you need to gently heat the reaction mixture (to around 30*C Celsius) until it decolorizes. Stirring is essential.
