If I were to substitute sodium borohydride for the LiAH can anyone help by confirming the amount I would have to use and what else I would have to modify? All other chemicals and amounts I have
Precursors are much easier to find than you might expect. You have to be resourceful sometimes but 345-TMB is one that you’ll see frequently on popular online auction sites and sites where people sell homemade crafts. Both start with an e if that helps.
if that doesn’t work, learn to use an jndividual chemical’s CAS# registry code. Every chemical has one to make multi-lingual communications with trade universal. Google CAS number and the name of the chemical you’re after. From there you expand your hunt internationally. Most handle customs so you don’t have to. Happy hunting.

I do not know how to go about that yet though as I am only a novice level on this site. maybe we could talk to admin about that and work something out. i would expect and only do it through escrow etc as that is the only way I would do it when I am in your shoes. I've had a few people on here try and temp me to purchase from them without that and I refuse them all. I also have kilos of nabh4 to go with it. its not as good as the LAH but it gets it done. idk...let me know if youre interested and we will take the next steps

Can you use the Hg/Al reduction to the amine instead of using lithium borohydride? That shit kinda scares me and Sodium borohydride is really expensive. Thanks
In cannabis crystals aka 'diamonds', using pure THC to recrystallize, and there was a small amount of some terpene added into the mother liquor, and the crystals crashed kind of blue
Not blue like the nth on the TV show, but blue just the same and peope saying different terpenes can make the crystals look purple as well
Question...at 4:50, when dude is filtering, there is a LOT of solids, what is it? Just spent LAH and reaction byproducts? Nothing re-usable? Anything toxic?
I've come across a old article where they're saying it isn't as crazy as people say put Id still be cautious.
The reduction part can be done a few ways such as Nabr4 or al/hg.lah is crazy expensive if you can find it.
I found it, it does seem super expensive.
If I were to try to figure out how much to use, would I use the same molar amount as the benzaldehyde, or the styrene?
Last question, Sasha says in PiHKAL that using less ammonium acetate when using nitromethane as a solvent is needed, and using 4-5g resulted in super loss.

The ammonium acetate is the catalyst which can be replaced with a few things ethanolamine is one I read alot of good experiences with there's also a mix of ethanolamine and GAA I can't think of the name but works good with 2,5 motifes.
Then personally I'd suggest using GAa as your solvent where nitromethane is harder to acquire. There are moler equivalents to use I'll have to dig up when I get home for you , but that's something id suggest learning right from the start. I personally think the idea of a "recipe" is incredibly dangerous for the newcomer and would suggest dedicating at least a hour a day to studying for a few months while you gather martials and learn.places like YouTube are a great resource along with forums such as this, the vaspery , Reddits "thee hive" and science madness are all excellent scouces.
When I get home I'll send you everything I've put together about 345 but essentially you need to acquire your related benzaldehyde either purchased or synthed from there your going to create your styrene "mescaline"using nitromethane or your propene "tma" using nitroethan and from there reduce it to desired product.

So, I was going to try Shulgins technique, to make 2-nitro-1-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)propene for TMA. From his procedure is says To a solution of 39.2g 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzaldehyde in 30 mL warm EtOH there was added 15.7 g nitroethane followed by 1.5 mL n-butylamine I've successfully made the trimethoxy nitro-styrene to TMPEA His notes say that if you use acetic acid your yield will be really low compared to if you use ethanol or methanol. My question is could you use isopropyl alcohol instead of ethanol or methanol, and instead of n-butylamine can I use Cyclohexylamine? Thanks guys
I'm not a chemist but I believe I have seen cyclohexylamine substituted for the n-butylamine, maybe even in the info on this forum, look in the phethylamine section or amphetamine section
